Danger 1000 Ocean Swim, Torquay
The Danger 1000 Ocean Swim at Torquay Front Beach, has become one of the biggest and most popular open water swims in Australia.
The 12th Danger 1000 Ocean Swim will be held at the Torquay Front Beach (Cosy Corner) on Saturday, 16th January 2010. The event is run by the Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club at the very calm, protected and picturesque location that the locals fondly refer to as "Cosy Corner." This idyllic setting is protected by Point Danger. The distance of the triangular course is 1000 metres hence the name Danger 1000. In 2010 over 2000 competitors are expected to compete in the event with ages ranging from 12-72.

Bells Bash Cliff Run/Walk
The Bells Bash is an 8km Fun Run or 4km Run/Walk from Jan Juc Surf Club along the cliff top to Bells Beach and back.
The 7th annual Bells Bash will be run from 5pm on Friday, 15th January 2010. The course takes runners along an undulating track between Jan Juc and the world famous Bells Beach. The course is challenging, but is regularly used by runners and walkers and overlooks much of the picturesque coast between the two points.
There are 10 categories, Spot Prizes, Trophies and lots, lots more.

Torquay SLSC TSLSC
Torquay SLSC TSLSC is at forefront of lifesaving service. Torquay beach is one of the busiest beaches in Victoria. Each summer, club members patrol 3,000 hours; perform between 20 and 30 rescues and over 270 preventative actions.
Torquay SLSC is recognised nationally as a premier competition club with many gold medals and numerous finalists at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships over the past 50 years.
Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club
The Club is situated on the cliff top over looking the Jan Juc Beach in one direction and the Torquay Golf Course in the other. These facilities are available for hire.
The Club patrols during the summer season every Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays between the end of November, 2006 and the end of March, 2007. The Club runs a Nipper Program nippers aged 7 – 13 for approximately 4 weeks beginning December, 2006 to January, 2007 from 10am – 12noon. The Club offers many opportunities for competition – surf boats, craft, water and beach – and is home to the 2004 World Champion Women's Boat Crew.
The Anglesea SLSC
The ASLSC clubhouse overlooks the main Anglesea beach and has one of the most spectacular views along the Great Ocean Road & Surf Coast.
The Anglesea SLSC was formed in 1952 and has established itself as one of the premier clubs in Australia with many awards including winning in both 2007 and 2008, the patrol efficiency award and also having individual members win the Wishart medal, Victorias highest accolade as Lifesaver of the year.
The ASLSC has over 1,600 members, the largest membership base of Victorian clubs and in addition to providing sport and recreation, skill development and offering frontline first aid and emergency services, Anglesea has proven to be an innovative and progressive club with many of it's initiatives being implemented at state and national levels.

Bells Beach Rip Curl Pro
Bells Beach has been home to the Rip Curl Pro for 37 years and the event has become a treasured tradition for thousands of surfing fans and holiday-makers alike.
The world’s best male and female surfers hold centre-stage for the entire April 7 to 18 event window – battling each other and Mother Nature in hope of climbing the podium to “ring the Bell”.
The surfers will share the spotlight with a host of Australia's best musicians come Easter Saturday and Sunday, when we fire up the Live Music Stage in the Bells Beach carpark.
Great Ocean & Otway Classic Ride
Great Ocean & Otway Classic Ride Event Features Spectacular and challenging course featuring the Great Ocean Road, Otway Ranges and quite back roads of regional Victoria. The si rRefreshments and entertainment on course at Moriac, Deans Marsh, Lorne, Anglesea and Torquay for all participants.
The Great Ocean & Otway Classic Ride is a recreational Ride not a race. Participants will not be timed and there will be no prizes for finishing first. We encourage all riders to ride within their ability, be careful at all times on course and enjoy the spectacular scenery and entertainment provided.
Schoolies Down South
Young people are choosing to celebrate the end of school at Lorne and Torquay because of the relaxing environment and low-key atmosphere. This website is intended to provide some information on the local character, expectations and safety information. A group called Schoolies Working Group (SWG) work all year round to ensure that the Surf Coast is as safe as possible.
